Young Adult (YA) programs are geared toward pre-teens and teens (ages 11 to 17) in grades 6-12.
Learn about other cultures while eating delicious and unique snacks. Every month, we explore a different location while tasting snacks that are hard (or impossible!) to find in the States. Trivia, games, music, and recipes are included!
Story Time Room or Small Conference Room
Registration is not required for this activity. Seats are limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Additional participants beyond the limit are welcome but may not receive all snacks. Seats cannot be “saved” by early arrivers. 😉
Who can participate?
This library program is open to Young Adult (YA) patrons in grades 6 to 12 (ages 11 to 17). Parents, guardians, and other patrons may sit in, but will not be given individual servings of the snacks.
*This program is possible because of the generous support of the Friends of the VVCL. If you enjoy this program and would like to see more of its kind at the VVCL please consider joining and supporting the Friends of the VVCL.
D&D at the Library
Learn to play Dungeons & Dragons, the most popular tabletop roleplaying game in the world. Role playing games combine adventure, imagination, storytelling, mathematics, social skills, and critical thinking in a fun and immersive experience. Players decide what kinds of characters they want to be (Adventurous trickster? Mysterious fighter? Brash magic user?) and work together to overcome obstacles, defeat baddies, and just do a lot of generally heroic stuff.
Small Conference Room (subject to change)
Registration is not required for this activity. For some D&D at the Library activities, seats may be limited and will be provided on a first come, first serve basis. Additional participants will be welcome but may not be able to fully participate, depending on available resources. Seats cannot be “saved” by early arrivers.

This library program is open to Young Adult (YA) and Adult patrons of the VVCL.
