Who Is Currently Eligible to Get Vaccinated?
People 5 years of age and older are eligible to get the Pfizer vaccine.
People 18 years and older can get the Moderna and Johnson & Johnson vaccines.
Please note it is not recommended to have not completed their 10-day isolation after testing positive for COVID-19. If you have recovered from COVID-19, and are eligible, you should get vaccinated. Who is Eligible for Vaccine Boosters?
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) authorized and recommends certain groups should or may receive a booster shot of the Pfizer or Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at least six months after the initial series of vaccines. Eligibility is limited to
- 65 years and older
- Age 18+ who live in long-term care settings
- Age 18+ who have underlying medical conditions
- Age 18+ who work or live in high-risk settings
For individuals who received the Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine, booster shots are also recommended for those who are 18 and older and who were vaccinated two or more months before.
If an individual requests a booster shot, they will need to bring their CDC COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card to be updated.
The CDC has also updated its guidance with regards to mixing of vaccine brands: "There are now booster recommendations for all three available COVID-19 vaccines in the United States. Eligible individuals may choose which vaccine they receive as a booster dose.
For more information regarding boosters visit the CDC website.
